Week 3 - Comments

I commented on Kevin's shots and . On Kevin's post I commented: "After viewing your blog, I liked your tilt shot, pan shot, and your point of view shot because they all turned out nice and were very smooth. When you took the POV shot it felt pretty realistic and made me feel like I was in a VR game. The tilt shot came out very good. I enjoyed this shot because it looked like it was shot on a drone that could record in any direction. I also enjoyed your pan shot because as you moved the camera from one side to another it all came out smooth and the camera was very stable".

I also comment on Israel's shot. On is Israel's post I commented: "After viewing your blog, I liked your head on shot, POV shot, and your establishing shot because they were unique. My favorite shot was the head on shot because it was really creative and it was something that I would of never though of. Your POV shot was smooth and made me feel that I was in your shoes. I also liked your establishing shot because it was smooth and showed the schools courtyard from a different perspective compared to what I'm used to seeing everyday".

Week 2- getting started with camera angles

This is a dolly shot of my brother that I took when I was on crutches. After viewing the film I realized that I was a bit shaky because it was hard for me to record while ,moving forward on crutches. A dolly shot is a moving shot that is accomplished by moving the camera as if it was on a set of tracks. This shot was taken inside of my community.

This shot is called a two-shot. A two-shot is a medium or close shot that is wide enough for two people that is often used to film a conversation. This shot shows two of my classmates having a conversation after they finished all of their classwork.

This shot was filmed as a low-angle shot. A low-angle shot is a shot filmed down low that is often looking up at the subject(s). In this shot I placed my phone on the floor tilted at a slight upward angle. I took a shot of my classmate Kevin using his phone.

This shot is a cameo shot. A cameo shot is a shot in which the subject is filmed against a black or neutral background. As seen in the film, I took a shot of my brother standing on a wall that was all the same color (neutral background).

This shot was an extreme close-up. An extreme close-up shot is a magnified shot o a small detail, such as a subject's eyes. This shot was taken by my classmate Kevin. Kevin is recording my eye with the camera fully zoomed.

This shot is called a "Choker". A choker shot is a tight close-up usually only showing a subjects face. For this shot I recorded my brother leaning on a wall only showing his face.

This shot is an establishing shot. An establishing shot is a long shot that shows location and mood. I took this shot of my brother standing in front of a lake in my community while the sun was starting to set.

This shot was a close-up (CU). A close-up shot is a shot of an isolated part of a subject or object, such as the head or hand. As seen in the shot, I filmed my brothers hand for a few seconds.

This shot was a high angle shot. A high angle shot is a shot filmed from high above the subject. In this shot I stood on top of a chair while my bother was walking.

This shot was a freeze frame. A freeze frame is a shot that results from repeating the same frame so the subject appears frozen. In this shot my brother tried to act frozen while I recorded him for a few seconds.
